Books

Three books got read during Christmas Break from College and here they are with reviews

Book 2: A Stroke of Midnight by Laurell K. Hamilton

This book was actually good. I enjoyed the little twists and turns here and there. The sex got a little nuts toward the end of the book but its LKH what do we expect right? I tried to read this a year ago and got about 3 pages in and got bored. I read it this time because I needed to finish up the series for when Minstral's Kiss came out. I would say this was a good book but she is relying on the sex to carry things way too much. It also took me over a week to read this one. I am giving this one a 3 out of 5 stars.

Book 3: Christ the Lord by Anne Rice

Everyone I have talked to said this book sucked. I have to disagree with them. I love that it was written in the first person and the images given by Ms. Rice are amazing. I actually felt like I was in the Middle East 2 thousand years ago. I was very impressed with this book. I put off reading it until now because of the reviews and I am sorry I did. I wish I had read it before now because unlike the reviews I have seen, it was well worth the few days it took to read. The best thing is that it is Anne Rice and she might have hit a good one here. I still say she is better with the Vampire and Goth stuff but I was very impressed with this book. I am actually giving this one 5 out of 5 stars. Good work Anne!

Book 4: For One More Day by Mitch Albom

This was  a great book! I actually got this for my mom for Christmas because she read one of the books and liked it but I read it first. I read Tuesdays with Morrie, in fact I read it last challenge and I loved it. I got through this book in one day yesterday in the span of about 3 hours total. The chapters were short as always but it had an amazing message of hope and redemption. I felt for the main character even though he screwed up royally and it was just a great book. I have not read Five People You Meet in Heaven yet but it is on the list for this year let me tell you. I think I found another great author that I can read that is not Historical Fiction. I very much enjoyed this book and look foward to his next book! Giving this one 5 out of 5 stars!
